10 things about Animation

1) Animators use specialized computer animation computer software to create images which create the illusion of movement.

2) In 1896, George Melies demonstrated that objects could be set in motion by rapidly projecting a series of drawings with slight progressive changes.

4) More than half of all movies and television programs produced in Japan are animation

5)Some of the most interesting anime explore the implications of technologies that blurs the distinctions between machine and person, male and female, good and evil, leaving the characters groping to find their moorings.

6)Animators can find full-time employment with movie or television production companies, with advertising

7)The 20 or so minutes of actual footage that make up a typical half-hour program consists of around 30,000 separate frames which people have to draw.

8)Each frame differs slightly from the one preceding it, giving the illusion of movement when frames are projected in rapid succession at 24 frames per second.
