Pokemon's History

Pokemon was a revolution of how games were seen. There was an new found enjoyment on games that had not be seen for years. Pokemon created a legend that has gone through good times and bad times. When everything is said and done Pokemon goes down as one of the most influential franchises in games. the thought of it being made form a childhood hobby of collecting and growing to be so famous is amazing if you think about it.
Pokemon originated in Japan, created by founder and CEO of Game Freak, Inc., Sataoshi Tajiri. As a child, Tajiri loved Japanese monster movies. In February 1996, the Nintendo Game Boy game Pokemon came on the market, and a comic book series was launched. Both were an immediate hit in Japan. In April 1997, the television cartoon series "Pokemon" debuted. In 1998, Pokemon began to catch on in the United States. Movies, spin-offs and a trading card game followed and fueled the fad.
The concept of the Pokémon universe, in both the video games and the general fictional world of Pokémon, stems from the hobby of insect collecting. A popular pastime which Pokémon executive director Sataoshi Tajiri enjoyed as a child. Over time, Tajiri decided to put his idea of catching creatures into practice because it would give children the same thrill as he had. With the help of Ken Sugimori and other friends, Tajiri formed Game Freak and much later the design studio known as Creatures. When Tajiri discovered the Game Boy and the Game Boy Link Cable it gave him the image of insects traveling along the wire, which led to the concept for a new game called Capsule Monsters.
After several failed attempts at pitching this idea to Nintendo, Tajiri's new friend pitched it to the company, and Nintendo began to fund the project, spending six years developing the games that would become a worldwide sensation. Due to issues, the name "Capsule Monsters" was changed to "Pocket Monsters". He had a dream he wanted to fulfill. Tajiri wasn't going to stop until he had completed his dream.
The games greatly influenced the card. After the first games were made there were trading card introduced soon after. The first set of cards was released on October 20th, 1996, containing 102 cards, and became very popular. They can with their own set of rules for the trading card game. even today the card are a big part of the Pokemon franchise.
Pokemon influence on the world has increased as time has passed.Pokemon has had a great impact on the world in pop culture many images and uses. Pokemon have been used in today celebrations and vehicles and in today's animation shows and social networking which effects everyone today. There are parks and rides that are themed after Pokemon. Without Pokemon the world would be a much different place than it is today because Pokemon has influenced a lot of things in the world we use today.
All in all, Pokemon holds a spot in folklore. toady Pokemon is still raging although not as much. There are still cards being made a kids still watch the shows and movies that come out. Games as well seem to still come out with new characters and Pokemon. You can pretty much say that Pokemon has not died and is still strong today. to conclude, Pokemon will continue to add more to its history and and games and card will come out as the demand increases in times to come.

Cars Animation

Animation and sport broadcasting have different roles in the way they use the computers. In broadcasting you will have to research things about teams and people. In animation you have to create things on the computer using programs. Although you use computers for each career you use different aspects and have different jobs on the computer.

What I learned and problems I faced in my tutorial

I learned how to make a CV curve object, how to make it revolve, and I learned how to use hypershade and UV's to change the texture of my Maya object. Problems I faced included extruding my handle, making a curve for my handle, and figuring out how to change the texture by using the Uv's and hypershades.

What I Learned Today

I didn't learn to much but I did learn how to change divisions of extruding, and to make better curves instead of drawing a curve in Maya.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Unfamiliarities

Things I am not familiar with in this project

1. Using the curve tools
2. Revolving
3. Using the UV maps and UV texture tools
4. Hypershade and changing the materials on a object

Maya Tutorial

I am doing a tea cup in Maya. I choose this because I thought it would be interesting and cool and that I can also add designs to the cup.

Purpose of Changing These Settings in Maya

The purpose of changing each tool is to customize the vent the way we want it to be.  You want multiple edge loops and want a certain number of edge loops so you change those settings. You also want it to not automatically complete the loop before you re done. This will change how many loops you can make and if you want multiple edge loops. Then if you ant it to auto complete then that decides if it will complete it automatically.

What I Learned Today in Maya

I learned to use the append to polygon tool in order to make an shield for my helmet. I went to the menu bar and to edit mesh and clicked append to polygon tool and then click the area I needed in ordered to make the shield. The other thing I did was split polygon tool in order to make 4 sections for my shield. I went to the menu bar and to edit mesh and clicked split polygon and selected the area I wanted split so my shield ad four sections.

My Plan For Pikachu

I will be doing pikachu and to make it I will have do a lot of fine point editing with his arms and legs by pullings vertices and edges out. In the beginning with the body all I will do is make a circle and modify it then with head it will be the same as well. For the ears from the head i will modify it to make it pointy. for the tail I will use a cube and modify it to make it zig zaggy. This will include me having to use a lot of edge and vertex editing and even some extruding. This project will be a challenge but very interesting.

My Maya Object

I picked to do pickchu.
I picked because I found to be interesting to make.
The hardest thing will be the feet and arms

Things I learned While Doing the Helmet

Three things I learned while doing the helmet were how to brigde to objects, how to use the vertices to manipulate the appearance, and how to use the polygon tool.

Two things that were challenges were extruding and getting the helmet top to look the exact way it was supposed to do.

My resolution is to be able to learn a little bit more about Maya so I don't struggle as much.

Progress

My progress is going well know that I received help from a friend.  He has helped me by starting from his object so I can get caught up in class. On the other hand my first helmet is not going so well and I cannot get the required help I need. I do not think I will every be to solve the problem and I have given up on it and decided to start from a classmate. If I had stuck to the one I made in the beginning I would probably be the only who did not finish their assignment. This assignment has caused stress on me and I have not enjoyed this situation.

What I'd Like To Do Someday Description

You would see me in Syracuse University playing basketball with a large and loud crowd. Everyone would be in orange. After paying in college I would be in a big training room with many machines and technology. I would be help them by telling them to ice and put them in a whirlpool and strengthening their ankles and any other part that need help. I would be taking planes to go help people in other countries. Crowds of kids would be speaking in all different dialects towards me. My crew would hand out food and supplies to the needy and we would then go to hospitals to help the sick and put smiles in their faces. I would be going to schools and help the students by teaching them many things about math, science, history, and English. In the end I would go and help them work with technology because that can changes a lot in the world . We would be on computer using robots and all sorts of machines.

"What I'd like to do someday...."

What I'd like to do someday is to be a successful person and take care of my parents like they have took care of me. I want to be able to help people around the world for those who need it. I want to study to become an athletic trainer or almost anything in the athletic if I am not a player. I have a passion for sports and everyone knows that sports helps people around the world. My parents and others have helped me for sixteen years I would at the least like to repay them for all the help that I have been given as a child. So, my goal is to have success and help people and I would like to have a career in athletics to help others.

Compare and Contrast 3D Objects

My first object that I made with the teacher was difficult at first but eventually became very easy once I had gotten the steps down correctly. My second object that I made by myself was also difficult because I did not know what I was doing but once I figured everything out I completed it. The last object that I have made based off another students instructions is fairly easy because I know how to make what is shown ion the picture. The object that was made is also easy so that helped tremendously.

How to create my Maya object

I go to create on the menu bar select polygon primitives drag it on the grid and use interactive mode to change the size of my objects.

Spaceship Attributes:
Translate X: 1.024    Translate Y: -43.622    Translate Z: -0.104
Scale X: -1.963       Scale Y: 1                Scale Z: 2.815
Rotate X, Z: 0          Rotate Y : 180

Portal Attributes:
Translate X: 0.318   Translate Y: -17.741   Translate Z: -0.117
Scale X: 1       Scale Y: 1                Scale Z: 1
Rotate X,Y, Z: 0

Warp Attributes:
Translate X: 2.979 Translate Y: -14.995   Translate Z: 1.172
Scale X: 1       Scale Y: 1               Scale Z: 1
Rotate X, Z, Y: 0

Soccer Ball Attributes :
Translate X: 0.538   Translate Y: -19.632   Translate Z: -0.094
Scale X: 1       Scale Y: 1                Scale Z: 1
Rotate X,Y, Z: 0

Steps To Create Object

  • First I create a spaceship using polygon primitive and a sphere the I customized it with the above attributes.
  • Then I made a portal using polygon primitives and a cylinder then I customized it with the above attributes.
  • I put a soccer ball in the portal using the interactive tools and the attributes shown above using with polygon primitive.
  • Then finally i put a warp around everything using a polygon primitive and a helix and the shown attributes.
  • Pretty simple how I did it.

My Maya Experience

My Maya experience was very good. It was difficult at first because I didn't know what to do. Eventually I figured out what to do and it got very easy. I changed my object a couple of times so I did not have a permeant object. On the last day I eventually changed my whole entire object. It was a fun project and I would enjoy doing it again.

SMART GOAL

Specific - Better in School
Measure - Getting on A honor roll
Action - Try to pay attention more in class
Reasonable - Very reasonable
Timely - This six weeks

My smart goal is to do better in school. I would like to get on A honor because I always end up getting either a 88 or 89 in a class. To avoid getting that grade if i pay attention more in class it will help me get higher grades on test and classwork. This is very reasonable for me because I am a hard work and get all my work done on time. I plan on focusing on this goal for this six weeks and see how it goes from there.
