Copyright Vocabulary

1) Copyright - it protects your work from other people trying to take credit for it.
2) Fair Use - tells you how much of a copyrighted item you can use legally.
3) First Sale Doctrine - allows you to transfer to copy as long as no adittional copies are made.
4) Intellectual Property - product of the imagination.
5) Patent - a monopoly that is given for a new invention.
6) Permission- you have to get permission to use a piece of someones work.
7) Phonorecords - new technology that is stored digitally.
8) Plagiarism - steal information that is somebodies else's.
9) Public Domain - copyrighted material that has expired adn can be used by other people.
10) Trademark - a word or logo that is used to identify a product.
