Pokemon Essay

Pokemon originated in Japan, created by founder and CEO of Game Freak, Inc., Sataoshi Tajiri. As a child, Tajiri loved Japanese monster movies. In February 1996, the Nintendo Game Boy game Pokemon came on the market, and a comic book series was launched. Both were an immediate hit in Japan. In April 1997, the television cartoon series "Pokemon" debuted. In 1998, Pokemon began to catch on in the United States. Movies, spin-offs and a trading card game followed and fueled the fad.
The concept of the Pokémon universe, in both the video games and the general fictional world of Pokémon, stems from the hobby of insect collecting. A popular pastime which Pokémon executive director Satoshi Tajiri enjoyed as a child. Over time, Tajiri decided to put his idea of catching creatures into practice because it would give children the same thrill as he had. With the help of Ken Sugimori and other friends, Tajiri formed Game Freak and much later the design studio known as Creatures. When Tajiri discovered the Game Boy and the Game Boy Link Cable it gave him the image of insects traveling along the wire, which led to the concept for a new game called Capsule Monsters.
After several failed attempts at pitching this idea to Nintendo, Tajiri's new friend pitched it to the company, and Nintendo began to fund the project, spending six years developing the games that would become a worldwide sensation. Due to issues, the name "Capsule Monsters" was changed to "Pocket Monsters". He had a dream he wanted to fulfill. Tajiri wasn't going to stop until he had completed his dream.
The games greatly influenced the card. After the first games were made there were trading card introduced soon after. The first set of cards was released on October 20th, 1996, containing 102 cards, and became very popular. They can with their own set of rules for the trading card game. even today the card are a big part of the pokemon franchise.
Pokemon influence on the world has incresed as time has passed.Pokemon has had a great impact on the world in pop culture many images and uses. Pokemon have been used in today celebrations and vehicles and in today's animation shows and social networking which effects everyone today. There are parks and rides that are themed after pokemon. Without pokemon the world would be a much different place than it is today because pokemon has influenced a lot of things in the world we use today.
